The Scientific Boating Safety Association (SBSA) is committed to fostering safe and skilled scientific boaters through education, research, and the advancement of scientific boating standards, certifications, and operations.
SBSA offers up to four $500 training awards annually to support members in furthering their hands-on boating education.
Eligibility Requirements:
Must be an Individual Member of SBSA or affiliated with an Organizational Member. Non-members may join here.
Must require scientific boating as part of their career or education.
Must submit a completed application.
Application Periods:
There are two application deadlines each year: April 1st and September 1st. Up to two recipients are selected per cycle.
The award funds can be used for various boat safety training programs, including but not limited to:
Motorboat Operator Training Course (MOTC)
American Canoe Association (ACA) training
US Power Boating training
And many more!
