SBSA Student Training Award

The mission of the Scientific Boating Safety Association (SBSA) is to facilitate the development of safe and productive scientific boaters through education, research and the advancement of standards for scientific boating practices, certifications and operations. SBSA provides up to four, $300 training awards annually to members who want to further their boating education by taking a hands-on boat training course. Applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

1. Applicant must be an Individual Member of the SBSA or affiliated with an Organizational Member of SBSA. Non-members may join here.
2. Applicant requires scientific boating as part of their career or education.
3. Submit an application.

Application Periods: There are two application periods for the SBSA Student Training Award. Applications must be submitted by April 1st and September 1st of each year. Up to two recipients will be selected after each application period deadline. The funds from this award can be used for a variety of boat safety training not limited to but including the Motorboat Operator Training Course (MOTC), American Canoe Association (ACA) training, US Power Boating training, and many more.
